A Mongolian family is moving to their summer camp in the Gobi Desert. While moving their gers, they talk about their hopes, fears, and dreams. Their lives are deeply connected to the landscape and history, while the future presents itself with both opportunities and threats.

The film does not claim to be an objective account of Mongolian life. Instead, it embraces the subjectivity of the traveller. The viewer becomes the traveller, and the nomadic family the host. The traveller follows in the footsteps of many who went before, going back to the times of the Mongol Empire. Meanwhile, the mountain where they live, known as Stones of the Little Place, has its own story to tell. The winds and beasts of this mountain whisper the ancient story of this desert, while the traveller’s interpretation of the things heard and seen becomes the lens of truth.
